Public Money for Private Business.

We have been hearing a lot about private business receiving public money,your money, and government takeover of private businesses. First let me say that I find nowhere in the Constitution that the federal government has the authority to either authorize funds, tax money, to be used for private business. Nowhere. Further more I find nowhere does the government have authority to interfere with free market enterprise or take over any private business. They do have limited federal authority to prosecute criminal activity by businesses and they do have some authority to prosecute individual criminal activity. I say some because the states have more jurisdiction and power than the federal government.

Now we do not see prosecutions because mismanagement is not a criminal offense. If a company like General Motors cannot operate at a profit the free market dictates that they go out of business. If a company does not produce a product that the people want or need then the result is company closure. It really is that simple. Propping up companies simply is not constitutional and cannot legally be practiced.

When government starts to meddle in private affairs it only leads to chaos and a unproductive environment. Man was created to produce and reap fruit from his labor. God never intended nor did our founding fathers, for us to be given a free ride at the expense of others. It is not fair nor just that I have to pay for the indiscretions of the few. The GM bailout was about propping up unions and in a sense a payoff for the support of these unions to the socialist liberals.

Under a constitutional republic all opportunity is equal and the free are able to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness according to his passion and ability. Failure for most people is good and an opportunity to grow. Fear of failure makes a person a failure permanently. Freedom brings true prosperity to the nation.

Freedom

Freedom is a word that should invoke a sense of peace. When one accepts the free gift of pardon from Jesus Christ there is a peace that passeth all understanding. If you have tasted the freedom under the protection of the constitution you experience a little taste of that type peace. I am old enough to have lived under that freedom. I know what it is to feel freedom. To live without fear or opression of government. To know what it is like not to have government meddeling in things that are none of their affair.

Freedom is not that things are always right or good or even just. There have always existed things that did not seem right. When government meddles in the affairs of men, in places it has not authority and attempts to be all things to all people the result is confusion, disappointment, and turmoil. We have arrived in those days. God never intended man and his government to reign supreme. When government assumes that position it robs God of his glory.

The Founding Fathers were careful to give place and due respect to the Creator. They were careful to acknowledge that freedom and liberty were and are gifts of God. When we fail to apply government in it's proper position then we are courting disaster. Wisdom of man is but foolishness with God and without divine guidance it can only lead to vanity.

Washington has become vain in their thoughts and actions. They believe (they being the president,congress,senate, and the court) that they know better what the people need than the people do and therefore can ignore their will. We must educate ourselves about our constitutional rights and demand that the legislators return to our God fearing conservative roots. If we continue to be ignored then we must work to remove those in the seat of power. The time to work is now! It will soon be too late and we will be forced into situation that will be less than desirable. Our grand children and great grandchildren are at stake.
